Laboratory Technician for the Institute of Microelectronics

Administrative Staff

The Institute of Microelectronics of the University of Macau invites applications for the position of Laboratory Technician (equivalent to Senior Administrative Officer/Administrative Officer) at a taxable monthly salary ranging from MOP41,360 to MOP64,860 (index 440 – 690).

Responsibilities

1. Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and regulations for safe and efficient lab function in the electronic lab and clean room for the Institute of Microelectronics;

2. Manage lab equipment usage, enforce safety procedures, and ensure accurate test data through regular inspections and maintenance;

3. Manage the entire procurement process, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and policies for executing tendering and procurement activities;

4. Leverage diverse disciplines (IC, biology, digital microfluidics, chemistry, materials) to foster team collaboration and industrialization;

5. Set up experimental environments and manage reliability tests to support R&D projects;

6. Help with IC and PCB design, use EDA tools for simulation and layout, and assist with PCB design, soldering, and testing;

7. Debug and resolve design issues to improve chip designs continuously.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field; Possession of Master’s or Doctorate degree will be an advantage.
4 years of research experience in a microelectronics-related laboratory is an essential prerequisite;
Knowledge of digital microfluidics, biochemical analysis methodologies, and flexible biosensor technologies;
Familiar with PCB and IC design processes and EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer and Cadence/Synopsys);
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
